Position Summary
The Customs Analyst / Customs Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing customs-related processes for import and export operations, ensuring compliance with applicable customs, tax, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in facilitating the accurate classification, clearance, and timely movement of goods while minimizing compliance risks and operational delays.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and validate customs documentation for international trade operations.
- Coordinate customs clearance activities with customs brokers, freight carriers, and relevant government authorities.
- Verify the correct tariff classification of products in accordance with applicable customs regulations.
- Ensure compliance with non-tariff regulations, restrictions, permits, and trade requirements.
- Monitor import and export processes through to the successful release of goods.
- Review customs declarations, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and other required documentation.
- Calculate and verify duties, taxes, tariffs, fees, and other applicable customs charges.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customs records and operational files.
- Respond to requests from customs authorities and support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor changes in customs regulations, trade legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve customs processes and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, International Trade, International Business, Law, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations and international trade compliance.
- Experience handling customs declarations and customs clearance procedures.
- Knowledge of tariff classification and applicable import/export regulations.
- Proficiency in customs-related systems, software platforms, and trade management tools.
- Intermediate English proficiency preferred.
