Medical Virtual Assistant (Spanish-Speaking)
Position Summary
The Spanish-Speaking Medical Virtual Assistant provides administrative and patient support to healthcare practices by assisting with appointment scheduling, patient communication, insurance verification, medical documentation, and other front-office responsibilities. This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate, professional support to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound and outbound calls in both English and Spanish.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Assist patients with general inquiries, registration, and intake.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records requests as needed.
- Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Respond to emails, voicemails, text messages, and patient portal inquiries.
- Coordinate with providers, clinical staff, and external healthcare facilities.
- Maintain accurate patient information while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Perform general administrative and data entry tasks.
- Follow established workflows, standard operating procedures, and client-specific guidelines.
- Complete additional administrative duties assigned by the client or management.
Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Previous experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Medical Biller, Medical Scheduler, or similar healthcare administrative role preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, AdvancedMD, NextGen, DrChrono, etc.) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of U.S. healthcare terminology and workflows.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional home office.
