In this role, you implement programs and actions aimed at the base of the food safety pyramid including material, process and product food safety specification development, GMPs (good manufacturing practices), hygiene and sanitation.

You will work with key partners to ensure that food safety requirements are accurately translated into raw material, process and product specifications in a timely manner, provide basic food safety requirements advice to key stakeholders, and direct detailed technical questions to the Food Safety Team experts.

Position Objective:
To ensure food safety across the plant's production lines through the design, implementation, and control of strict cleaning and sanitation programs and standards. The key purpose is to operationally lead the assigned team to guarantee facility continuity and compliance with quality regulations, mitigating contamination risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personnel Management and Supervision: Directly coordinate and lead a team of 19 unionized employees distributed across three work shifts.
- Food Safety Assurance: Execute, supervise, and control various cleaning programs (including routine facility cleaning as well as internal and specialized cleaning of operational lines).
- Standardization and Procedures: Develop, update, and implement internal procedures, work instructions, and operational controls focused on the Sanitation area.
- Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to the plant's management system guidelines and standards, including HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, allergen management, and basic microbiology.
- Infrastructure Monitoring: Oversee critical plant aspects related to sanitation, including sanitary design, pest control, and drainage systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields within the manufacturing sector.
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial cleaning or sanitation supervisory roles within manufacturing plants. Strong, well-developed leadership skills are essential.
- Labor Relations Management: Proven experience and ability to lead and work in unionized environments.
- Essential Technical Knowledge: Certifications or proficiency in HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation programs, basic microbiology, allergen management, and pest control.
- Languages: Intermediate English.
- Soft Skills: Effective communication (verbal and written), analytical mindset, strong problem-solving orientation, and a high level of operational perseverance.
Location: Tlajomulco Plant. Carretera Tlajomulco a San Miguel Cuyutlán Km. 13 #320, C.P. 45660, San Miguel Cuyutlán – Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco.
Work Arrangement: 100% on-site.
Schedule: Mixed shift from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Working every Sunday is a mandatory requirement due to operational needs; the regular day off is scheduled on Saturdays or flexibly during the week.
