The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing pickup activities and related processes, both before and after pickup—up to one hour post-departure. This role involves short-cycle tasks such as confirming carrier arrival times, performing check calls for arrivals and departures, and inputting shipment data. In addition, the role includes longer-cycle responsibilities such as analyzing compliance performance, ensuring information accuracy, and escalating issues related to carrier communication or system deviations.
This position closely aligns with a Logistics Coordinator role but carries additional ownership over process monitoring and escalation.

Confirm Carrier ETA at least 2 hours before pickup.

Confirm arrival check calls.

Report loading delays or issues.

Update trailer numbers and delivery notes in system.

Stop departure from supplier when required.

Communicate TONU (Truck Ordered Not Used) situations through appropriate escalation channels.

Maintain real-time shipment status within Optimiz.

Identify and escalate deviations to Operations and IT systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint, and Visio.

Experience with ProTrans systems: Optimize, BIAPPS, IT Client Portal, Cloud.Samsara, Insight.Skybitz.

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
