What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a Technical Assistance Associate to join the ICAF Technical Assistance team. This role combines investment readiness, technical assistance, project management, impact measurement, and stakeholder engagement. Depending on the successful candidate's experience and strengths, responsibilities may place greater emphasis on investment analysis and pipeline development or on technical assistance design, implementation, and impact management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Investment team, entrepreneurs, consultants, and ecosystem partners to strengthen companies throughout the investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Analysis & Pipeline Development
- Screen and evaluate investment opportunities against the Fund's investment strategy and impact objectives.
- Conduct financial, market, ESG, climate, and gender assessments to support investment decisions.
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and reports.
- Develop the investment pipeline through market research, sector analysis, and relationship-building with ecosystem partners.
Technical Assistance & Project Delivery
- Assess the technical assistance needs of pipeline and portfolio companies and design tailored TA projects aligned with Fund objectives.
- Manage TA projects from scoping through implementation, including workplans, budgets, timelines, consultant management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, reporting, and project documentation.
Impact Measurement & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support impact measurement, monitoring, learning, and reporting across climate, ESG, gender, and financial performance indicators.
- Develop knowledge products and case studies to share lessons learned and best practices.
- Build relationships with portfolio companies, consultants, and ecosystem partners, and represent Deetken Impact at relevant meetings, workshops, conferences, and industry events.
Travel
- Travel throughout Latin America and the Caribbean (approximately 12 weeks per year) to support due diligence, technical assistance implementation, investment readiness activities, portfolio company engagement, monitoring visits, workshops, conferences, and other activities related to the ICAF Fund.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Academic background
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
- Preferred Master's degree or MBA.
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant professional
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Technical Assistance
- Impact Investing
- Investment Analysis
- Private Sector Development
- Entrepreneurship / SME support
Languages
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
Technical Knowledge
- Climate Finance: Knowledge of climate finance principles, taxonomies, and investment approaches, with the ability to assess investment opportunities for climate eligibility, mitigation, adaptation, and resilience outcomes.
- Impact Measurement & Management: Applies impact management frameworks and metrics to define, monitor, and evaluate project and investment outcomes. .
- Salesforce experience is an asset.
