We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our team in a 100% remote position. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys coding in Python and is comfortable working at the intersection of software development, Linux, APIs, automation, and networking.
The Python Developer will work with an existing codebase while helping modernize and migrate legacy automation solutions. This includes converting older Bash and TCL scripts into Python, updating API integrations, troubleshooting existing automation processes, and developing reliable tools that reduce manual work across systems.
Advanced English proficiency is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts and tools using Python.
- Review existing Python code, understand current functionality, and implement improvements or updates.
- Convert legacy Bash and TCL scripts into clean, maintainable Python solutions.
- Build, integrate, and consume REST APIs.
- Update existing API integrations as underlying platforms and architectures evolve.
- Troubleshoot automation workflows and identify opportunities to replace manual processes with reliable automated solutions.
- Work with scripts and applications running in Linux environments.
- Manipulate and process IPv4/IPv6 addresses, prefixes, subnets, and other network-related data programmatically.
- Help modernize existing tools and configurators by migrating functionality into Python.
- Work with variables and data obtained from multiple systems and integrations.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders to understand priorities and determine the best approach for existing and new automation needs.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Strong experience working in Linux environments.
- Experience building, integrating, and consuming REST APIs.
- Working knowledge of Bash and/or TCL, including the ability to understand existing legacy scripts.
- Experience with automation scripting and troubleshooting across systems.
- Understanding of IPv4/IPv6 addressing, prefixes, subnets, and related networking concepts.
- Ability to read, understand, maintain, and improve an existing codebase.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reliable code.
- Advanced English proficiency is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a 100% remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with network automation.
- Previous experience migrating legacy scripts or applications to Python.
- Experience modernizing existing automation workflows.
- Experience working with Salesforce APIs or similar third-party API integrations.
- Experience replacing spreadsheet-based or manual configuration processes with Python-based solutions.
