Position Summary:
The Materials and Internal Logistics Manager leads materials management, inventory control, warehousing, and internal logistics operations. This role ensures material availability to support production while optimizing inventory levels, improving material flow, maintaining inventory accuracy, and achieving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer service objectives.
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in materials management, warehousing, logistics, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
- 5+ years leading teams in manufacturing or distribution environments.
- Strong experience with MRP, inventory management, warehouse operations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Knowledge:
- MRP, Inventory Management, WMS, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Supply Chain Metrics, and Warehouse Operations.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute materials management and inventory strategies aligned with business goals.
- Ensure availability of raw materials, components, indirect materials, and spare parts.
- Manage inventory policies, cycle counts, physical inventories, and audits to maintain high accuracy levels.
- Monitor MRP activities and demand planning processes.
- Lead warehouse operations including receiving, storage, material handling, picking, staging, and production replenishment.
- Optimize warehouse layouts, material flow, storage utilization, and internal transportation processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Partner with Production, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams to support business continuity.
- Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve performance targets.
- Lead, coach, and develop materials and logistics teams while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, automation, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Promote effective use of ERP, WMS, and data analytics tools.

Qualifications Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
