This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience (less than one year) who are eager to learn the fundamentals of construction project management, specifically in concrete-focused projects. The trainee will assist with planning, coordinating, and supporting field operations while gaining hands-on experience in construction processes.
Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or in progress).

Less than one year of experience in construction (internships or co-op experience a plus).

Basic knowledge of construction drawings and specifications.

Willingness to work in both office and field environments.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
1. Project Documentation & Support
Assist in maintaining daily project logs, RFIs, submittals, and document control.
Help prepare and track submittals and material deliveries for concrete pours.
Document field changes, concrete pour logs, and related reports accurately.
2. Field Coordination
Observe and support field layout, concrete forming, placement, and finishing activities.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
Assist in quality assurance checks and inspections for concrete pours.
3. Scheduling & Planning
Help develop and maintain short-term construction schedules.
Monitor progress against the schedule and assist in adjusting timelines based on field conditions.
4. Safety & Compliance
Participate in job site safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
Learn and apply OSHA standards and company safety procedures on site.
5. Learning & Development
Shadow senior engineers and superintendents to understand field and office workflows.
Engage in training on construction materials, techniques, and software tools.
