We are looking for a detail-oriented Banking Accountant to support our Accounting Department with banking transactions, reconciliations, and general accounting activities.
The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, experience performing bank reconciliations, and the ability to independently research and resolve discrepancies.
Position Summary
The Banking Accountant is responsible for performing and maintaining the company's day-to-day banking-related accounting activities, ensuring that banking transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, documented, and properly supported.
This position works closely with the CFO to maintain accurate banking records, identify and resolve discrepancies, support cash-related accounting activities, and ensure timely completion of assigned banking and reconciliation tasks.
The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies independently.
Key Responsibilities
Banking & Reconciliation
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for assigned company accounts.
- Review bank activity and ensure transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system.
- Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records.
- Monitor outstanding transactions, deposits, transfers, checks, fees, and other banking activity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date reconciliation schedules.
- Verify that banking transactions have appropriate supporting documentation.
- Follow up on unidentified or incorrectly recorded transactions.
- Maintain organized records of bank statements, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with inter-company banking transactions and reconciliations when applicable.
Accounting Functions
- Prepare and record journal entries related to banking activity.
- Reconcile bank-related general ledger accounts.
- Review transaction classifications and identify potential accounting errors.
- Assist with cash and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to assigned accounts.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for accounting reviews.
- Research accounting discrepancies and provide findings to CFO.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities when banking transactions require additional research or reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with established company procedures and accounting policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and working with general ledger accounts.
- Understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bank accounts, transactions, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to research discrepancies and follow issues through resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- English proficiency appropriate for reviewing financial information and communicating with U.S.-based management and business partners.

- Salary $5,000 -$7,5000 MXN per week (depending on experience)
