IVI Automation and Test Tools Developer
Summary
We are looking for a visionary Test Software Developer / Core Developer to build, scale, and maintain extensible automation frameworks from the ground up. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of our testing tools—including advanced versioning and release management—while bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical execution using BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) methodologies. You will play a crucial role in validating advanced In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Framework Architecture: Design, scale, and maintain core BDD frameworks (e.g., Behave, Cucumber), ensuring high modularity, reusability, and performance. Build and manage a shared library of reusable Gherkin step definitions to eliminate code duplication across feature teams.
- CI/CD Integration: Develop, optimize, and manage automated pipelines (using GitHub Actions or JFrog) to trigger test suites seamlessly upon PR creation, merging, or scheduled releases.
- Release & Version Management: Oversee the versioning of testing libraries, ensuring backward/forward compatibility between test suites and target versions of the Application Under Test (AUT).
- Technical Mentorship: Drive engineering best practices by training, guiding, and supporting cross-functional teams in leveraging testing frameworks and tools effectively.
Qualifications
- Testing & Methodology: Mastery of BDD and TDD principles. Proven experience extending core testing framework functionalities, with specialized knowledge in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) integration, real-time constraints, and signal processing within automated scripts.
- Programming & Systems: Deep proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Linux-based test runners, and shell scripting. Strong ability to write clean, optimized, and architecturally sound code.
- Version Control & DevOps: Advanced Git operations expertise (Interactive Rebase, Cherry-picking, Hooks, Submodules). Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise features, including complex Environments, OIDC Secrets Management, and Custom Actions.
- Hardware Interaction: Practical experience with HiL test benches and lab equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes) for robust hardware-software interface validation.
- Agile Delivery: Strong track record within Agile/Scrum environments, consistently meeting sprint commitments and familiar with the "Three Amigos" collaborative approach.
- ALM & Tooling: Proficient with lifecycle management tools including Jira, Jama, TestRail, and Gherkin.
- You must be legally authorized to work in Mexico.
Desirable Skills
- Domain Expertise (IVI): Hands-on validation experience with In-Vehicle Infotainment systems, including Smartphone Projection (CarPlay/Android Auto), Audio Management, HMI/Display functionality, and Connectivity.
- Hardware Diagnostics: Ability to interpret automotive electrical schematics and wiring harnesses to trace signal paths, pinouts, and power distribution.
- Protocols & Automotive Tooling: Advanced proficiency with network analysis tools (Vector CANoe / CANalyzer) and automotive diagnostic protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Familiarity with OEM-specific tools (e.g., Ford DET) is a strong plus.
