POSITION PURPOSE
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) position is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional seeking new challenges and broad responsibility in database administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintenance, and operational support of the entire database portfolio. Maintain reliability, stability, and data integrity of Oracle databases and Exadata environments. Provide support in database administration, backup, integrity, and security. Responsible for maintaining and improving DBA policies and procedures to meet current and future business needs and mentoring DBAs, developers, and IT personnel using Oracle.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, document, and test DBA policies and procedures.
2. Manage all levels of data security and integrity throughout the development lifecycle.
3. Assist in developing DBA service standards and provide training to DBAs and internal customers.
4. Provide primary problem management support through troubleshooting and resolution.
5. Develop database strategies, tool selection, and internal scripts.
6. Develop implementation plans, system validation, and departmental procedures.
7. Research and help implement advanced database features such as clustering, replication, and partitioning.
8. Install, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases.
9. Assist users with SQL questions and performance tuning.
10. Analyze database resource consumption and forecast trends.
11. Test backup and recovery scenarios and disaster recovery procedures.
12. Participate in 24x7 on call support.

EXPERIENCE
- More than 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator in an Oracle environment.
- More than 3 years of experience with PL/SQL, scripting, querying, and database tuning.
- More than 2 to 3 years of Oracle database development.
- Strong PL/SQL programming and UNIX shell scripting experience.
- Experience with Oracle 11g/12c, Oracle Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and PL/SQL.
- Experience administering OEM.
- Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Experience working with Windows and Linux installation, configuration, and tuning of Oracle 11g/12c.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Ability to participate in on call support for 24x7 database operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to research database issues, standards, and products.
- Strong customer service orientation
