Overview:
Lutron has an immediate opening in Chihuahua, Mexico for a Lead Accountant to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information within our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will perform a mix of general accounting and light cost‑accounting activities, including month‑end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance with US GAAP.
You will also assist with inventory valuation, basic product costing, variance analysis, preparation of budget and forecast, and operational financial insights that help drive profitability and efficiency. Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance, you will translate manufacturing activity into meaningful financial analysis to support decision‑making.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain, review, and update standard costs; ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods; analyze manufacturing variances and identify cost‑optimization opportunities.

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close by preparing cost‑related journal entries, reconciling inventory and manufacturing accounts, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Lead budgeting and forecasting for the manufacturing segment; analyze performance vs. plan and provide margin and profitability insights for pricing, operations, and strategic decisions.

Improve cost‑accounting processes and ERP data integrity; participate in system upgrades; collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to resolve issues and align cost strategies.

Communicate financial insights to non‑finance stakeholders and support special projects and ad‑hoc analyses focused on cost, margin, and profitability improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Business, CPA, CMA, or Data Analytics credentials are a plus.

Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting and cost accounting experience. Public accounting experience is a plus.

Solid knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and general accounting principles.

Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting is preferred but not required.

Fluent in English and Spanish

Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred) and Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills (modeling, what‑if/sensitivity analysis) required.
