Overview:
The Manager, Mexico Statutory Accounting is a position within the Americas Controller organization. The Senior Manager will work closely with other members of the Finance organization, especially members of FP&A, Legal, Regional Shared Service, and Global Tax teams. The Manager is responsible for statutory audits and their related matters.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely, accurate reporting and filing of statutory financial results, including annual filings (e.g. MD&A, footnote disclosures, etc.).

Coordinate with external local CPA firm in preparation of schedules and interrogatories for Mexico tax and accounting filings.

Primary accounting lead on any ad-hoc statutory audits and examinations from external or internal inquiries, including but not limited to governmental agencies, external auditors, etc.

Perform local account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies on a timely basis.

Identify differences between US GAAP and local GAAP to create the necessary journal entries/adjustments for local reporting purposes.

Stay current with statutory rules/regulations and implement the new standards in accordance with Mexican FRS guidelines.

Provide support to Americas Assistant Controller or Global Tax Senior Director on any other ad hoc analysis or special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
Required Education Level

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required.

Contador Publico Certificado (CPC) or equivalent, strongly preferred.
Required Experience

Fluent in Spanish & English, required.

Minimum 5 years public or private accounting, required.

Minimum 5 years preparing Mexico statutory accounting & related financial statements, required.

Great working knowledge of US GAAP and local GAAP accounting, required.
Required Knowledge/Skills

Ability to analyze and understand the differences between US GAAP and local GAAP.

Advanced Excel skills and use of SAP, or similar ERP systems.
