The PTO/Equip Sr Manager provides technical and organizational leadership for engineering activities supporting product development, producibility, testing, qualification, and program execution. This role leads and develops engineering teams, coordinates cross-functional and customer activities, manages technical deliverables and budgets, and drives improvements in key business and program metrics. The PTO/Equip Sr Manager also provides technical direction on design changes, component qualification and validation, root cause investigations, and corrective and preventive actions.
Lead and develop the engineering team by establishing goals and priorities, assigning and reviewing work, monitoring individual and team performance, and providing training, mentoring, and development opportunities.
Plan, organize, and coordinate engineering activities, resources, and priorities to support program goals, project milestones, and technical deliverables.
Coordinate Development, Value Engineering, Producibility, and Testing activities with program customers and internal cross-functional teams.
Drive closure of technical challenges by providing technical direction and guidance to engineering teams, cross-discipline peers, and subject matter experts.
Coordinate design and stress analysis activities, including task assignments, technical reviews, milestone tracking, and deliverable completion.
Establish metrics, reporting requirements, targets, and standards, and use data to monitor performance and drive improvements in OTD, FPY, productivity, and targeted turnback reduction.
Create and execute low-cost sourcing plans and manage indirect and CFE spending to align budgets with program and strategic business objectives.
Ensure standard analysis methods are applied and establish appropriate mitigation methods when required.
Recommend and guide design changes to improve product performance, manufacturability, and program margins.
Develop and implement methods for component qualification and validation, including tolerance stack-up studies to support design integrity and manufacturability.
Lead engineering investigations to establish root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including cross-discipline, CEO, PTO, and program teams, as well as external customers, to support engineering and program objectives.
Communicate goals, technical information, and program updates through regular staff meetings, individual meetings, and presentations to senior-level leadership.
Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% as required by business needs.
Perform other duties as required.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience.
Engineering team leadership experience, including work assignment, technical deliverable review, and performance management.
Aerospace engineering experience with aircraft structures, parts, or components.
Component qualification, validation, and testing experience, including test results documentation.
Engineering investigation experience, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.
