As a Referrals Specialist, you will manage attorney referral relationships and ensure cases are matched with the right legal partners. This position requires strong relationship-building, research, and organizational skills, as well as an understanding of the legal industry and personal injury landscape.
Your work will directly impact client outcomes, strengthen our referral network, and contribute to the firm's long-term growth and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Attorney Referral Management
- Evaluate potential referral cases that fall outside the firm's practice priorities or require specialized legal expertise.
- Match cases with qualified attorneys based on practice area, experience, litigation success, and client needs.
- Coordinate case referrals while ensuring smooth communication between all parties involved.
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of referral cases throughout the process.
Relationship Development
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with attorneys and referral partners.
- Expand the firm's referral network by researching and identifying high-quality legal professionals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for referral attorneys regarding case expectations and collaboration.
- Promote strong partnerships that support mutual business growth and exceptional client service.
Research & Case Evaluation
- Research attorneys based on practice areas, trial experience, settlements, verdict history, reputation, and qualifications.
- Maintain and continuously update a database of trusted referral partners.
- Stay informed about legal market trends and attorney specialization changes.
- Assist leadership in developing referral criteria and best practices.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Monitor referral activity and track case outcomes.
- Prepare reports on referral performance and partnership effectiveness.
- Collaborate with legal leadership and operations teams to improve referral processes.
- Ensure referral activities align with ethical standards and internal policies.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in legal operations, attorney relations, business development, client services, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the legal industry, including attorney specialties and court processes.
- Experience building professional relationships and managing external partnerships.
- Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and legal research platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional English proficiency is required.
- Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in personal injury law.
- Background in attorney referrals or legal business development.
- Strong sales, relationship management, or customer service experience.
- Knowledge of ethical standards related to legal referrals.
