Job Summary
A confidential company is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Accountant to join its Finance and Accounting team.
This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, reviewing financial transactions, preparing reconciliations and reports, and supporting the company’s accounting operations in the United States.
The ideal candidate will have previous accounting experience with a U.S.-based company, a multinational organization, or a company supporting operations in the United States. Candidates must also have practical knowledge of U.S. GAAP — Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
This position requires advanced English proficiency, as the selected candidate will communicate regularly with coworkers, vendors, banks, auditors, CPAs, and other external parties located in the United States.
Work Arrangement
This is a primarily remote position available only to candidates currently residing in Nuevo León.
The selected candidate must be available to work onsite one day per week, depending on business needs, at either of the following locations:
- Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León
- Guadalupe, Nuevo León
The company will provide the necessary computer equipment and hardware.
What You Will Do
- Review and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and current financial records, reports, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure accounting activities comply with internal policies and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, insurance, taxes, bad debt, and other accounting adjustments.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Track and reconcile company assets.
- Assist with cash flow analysis and cash management activities.
- Support the preparation of financial projections, budgets, and forecasts.
- Review accounting reports for accuracy before distribution.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing reports, schedules, documentation, and explanations.
- Serve as a point of contact for banks, external auditors, CPAs, vendors, and other financial service providers.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in coordination with other departments.
- Support payroll accounting and payroll-related postings.
- Enter and maintain accounting transactions in SAP or other financial systems.
- Assist with the development and improvement of accounting procedures, reports, controls, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Purchasing, and other departments located in Mexico and the United States.
- Provide accounting information and support to internal stakeholders.
- Perform other accounting and financial responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least three years of relevant professional accounting experience.
- Previous accounting experience with a U.S.-based company, multinational organization, or company supporting U.S. operations.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger activities, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Experience preparing documentation for internal or external audits.
- Experience working with manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or steel-related companies is a plus.
- Must currently reside in Nuevo León.
- Must be able to travel to Ciénega de Flores or Guadalupe (Linda Vista zone) once per week.
English Requirement
Advanced English proficiency is required.
Candidates must be able to:
- Maintain fluent and professional conversations in English.
- Participate confidently in meetings, phone calls, and videoconferences.
- Communicate with coworkers, vendors, auditors, banks, CPAs, and other external parties located in the United States.
- Write clear and professional emails, reports, explanations, and financial communications.
- Understand and discuss accounting and financial terminology in English.

Software Knowledge
- Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Online banking platforms.
- Google Workspace.
- Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other videoconferencing platforms.
- QlikView, Power BI, or similar reporting tools is a plus.
