Position Overview
We are currently hiring a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Architect for a full-time remote or hybrid position.
This is a senior-level hands-on leadership role responsible for the architecture, security, reliability, and scalability of production environments across AWS and GCP.
You will lead infrastructure strategy, oversee cloud operations, guide support teams, improve incident response processes, and ensure the platform can scale efficiently as the business grows.
This role is ideal for an experienced cloud leader who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving operations, mentoring teams, and owning production environments end-to-end.
Important: This is an in-office position for candidates living in the Guadalajara area. Applicants outside Guadalajara will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure Strategy
- Design and maintain production environments across AWS and GCP
- Build scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architecture
- Define and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code standards using Terraform or similar tools
- Evaluate cloud services, vendors, and infrastructure solutions
Infrastructure Team Leadership
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership to infrastructure and support teams
- Prioritize work, remove blockers, and mentor engineers
- Review technical changes, deployments, and operational runbooks
- Raise engineering standards across cloud operations and support
Production Operations
- Own uptime, performance, patching, capacity, and compliance of production systems
- Maintain accurate inventory of cloud resources and environments
- Eliminate manual configurations and unmanaged systems
- Enforce release discipline across development, staging, and production
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Own observability across metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerts
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and alert thresholds
- Lead high-severity incident response and root-cause analysis
- Improve MTTD, MTTR, and overall operational readiness
Security & Compliance
- Own IAM, encryption, secrets management, network controls, and audit readiness
- Review privileged access and production security changes
- Partner with security teams on remediation and compliance initiatives
Cost Optimization & Capacity Planning
- Forecast infrastructure needs based on business growth
- Monitor and optimize AWS / GCP spending
- Produce cost reports and identify savings opportunities
Disaster Recovery & Continuity
- Maintain backup, restore, failover, and DR procedures
- Execute DR tests and improve recovery readiness
- Ensure legal and compliance retention standards are met
Requirements
- 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience
- 5+ years in senior, lead, or architect-level cloud roles
- Expert hands-on experience with AWS and GCP
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform or equivalent
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or similar
- Proven experience leading production incidents and root-cause analysis
- Strong cloud security knowledge including IAM, encryption, networking, and compliance
- Experience leading infrastructure or DevOps teams
- Strong written communication skills for executive and technical audiences
- Ability to work aligned with U.S. business hours
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or Google Cloud Architect certifications
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, or GKE
- Experience supporting SaaS or multi-tenant platforms at scale
- Experience with Postgres, BigQuery, Snowflake, or data platform infrastructure
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple regions
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
- English required; Spanish is a plus
