Job Description
The Senior Accountant will help the Head of Accounting manage the accounting department, overseeing all general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. The Sr Accountant is responsible for assisting in areas relating to financial reporting and will help develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Supervise daily operations of the accounting department, including:

Assist in overseeing the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Prepare weekly payment proposals, including:

Review and verify invoices for payment.

Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
Review monthly bank reconciliations, including:

Reconciling all bank accounts monthly.
-
Identify and resolve any discrepancies in the reconciliation process.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports.
Financial reporting, including:

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Compliance, including:
-
Maintain knowledge of current accounting regulations and standards.

Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
Team management and training, including:

Assist in managing and mentoring the accounting team.

Develop training programs to enhance staff skills.
Process improver, including:

Identify opportunities for process improvements.

Monitor the effectiveness of new processes.
Prepare work papers and accounting policies, including:

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.

Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.

Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Scholarship:
Specialized knowledge:
