Position Summary
Performs technical work requiring competency in all conventional aspects of the engineering department. Conducts work requiring judgement in the evaluations, selection and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems as encountered.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with technical work for process qualification activities requiring some independent evaluation, selection and application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria within applicable advance manufacturing engineering procedures and guidelines.
- Support other project related activities established by the advance manufacturing engineering department such as first article inspections, design verification builds at operation sites, training, work instructions and supporting documents for the manufacturing process.
- Provides guidance and direction to production line operators on project related activities.
- Troubleshoots production line issues including root cause analysis of failed product, equipment and computer systems.
- Collaborates with internal departments as well as vendors and equipment suppliers to resolve issues and coordinate work in support of business objectives.
- Ensures safety procedures are observed and leads by example.
- Conducts various industrial engineering technical tasks of intermediate scope and degree of difficulty, under limited supervision from the direct supervisor or a member of the engineering staff.
- Performs test protocols and records appropriate information.
- Sets up, operates and adjusts standard equipment and records appropriate information.
- Maintains communications within department in support of advance manufacturing engineering, such as team meetings.
- Participates and contributes to decision-making processes of limited impact to overall project.
- Validates development tools of moderate complexity. Compiles metrics and engineering data including validation testing output.
