Summary:
Responsible for both economic and qualitative aspects in the acquisition of materials and services. Ensures optimal supply chain management, compliance with corporate standards, and continuous improvement within the purchasing function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, organize, analyze, and prioritize all indirect supply needs within the company.
- Manage investments with Corporate through CAPEX approvals in alignment with global investment agreements.
- Select suppliers based on quotes received and propose new purchase alternatives when appropriate.
- Negotiate purchase terms to comply with corporate standards.
- Prepare purchase orders to confirm acquisitions with suppliers.
- Monitor purchase conditions to ensure compliance with payment terms, warranties, and additional services.
- Ensure all suppliers meet Marelli Toluca’s requirements and policies for maintaining good commercial relationships.
- Coordinate logistics with carriers to guarantee the collection and delivery of purchased materials and investments.
- Manage documentation and customs procedures for the importation of materials and investments.
- Coordinate activities for receiving, warehousing, and installation of acquired materials and investments at the plant.
- Participate in resolving quality issues related to purchased materials and equipment.
- Ensure proper use and consultation of QMS, EMS, and OHSMS documents and records.
- Identify and address internal non-conformities within the area.
- Document potential causes of non-conformities.
- Participate in measurement and follow-up to achieve area objectives.
- Observe company safety and hygiene standards, utilizing the required personal protective equipment and avoiding improvisation.
- Actively promote accident and injury prevention and encourage safety improvement ideas at the workplace.
- Promote environmental contamination prevention by identifying and segregating waste generated in the role.
- Train in the knowledge of the plant’s emergency plan and foster a culture of respect for prevention systems (e.g., not blocking alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, first aid kits) as applicable to the role
