Details of the role:
This is a remote, LATAM-based position focused on providing database administration support for the Oracle Communications / RODOD stack. You will support LAD and EMEA operations, ensuring the stability and performance of Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) and Elastic Charging Engine (ECE) environments.
The role requires a flexible schedule to accommodate rotational shifts, weekend support, and scheduled maintenance windows. You will act as a bridge between database technology and business processes, requiring both technical depth and a functional understanding of application flows.
Key responsibilities:
- Database Administration: Manage day-to-day Oracle DBA tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Performance Management: Conduct proactive performance tuning and optimization to ensure high-speed processing within the RODOD stack.
- High Availability: Maintain and troubleshoot Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments to ensure continuous service availability.
- Troubleshooting: Lead production troubleshooting efforts and perform root cause analysis for complex database issues.
- Data Protection: Oversee backup and recovery operations to safeguard business-critical data.
- Operational Support: Participate in an on-call rotation and execute tasks during maintenance windows.
- Business Impact Assessment: Analyze BRM and ECE processes during incidents to determine business impact and facilitate faster resolution.
Required Skills:
- Oracle Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard.
- Development Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for complex querying and database programming.
- Stack Knowledge: Proven experience supporting BRM and ECE environments within the Oracle Communications / RODOD framework.
- Experience Level: Mid-level experience in production database support, including backup, recovery, and tuning.
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in both Spanish and English.
Functional Awareness: Ability to understand application-level business logic within billing and charging systems.
Good to have skills:
· Cloud & Hybrid Systems: Familiarity with cloud-based (OCI, AWS, or Azure) and hybrid database architectures.
· Automation: Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including Shell scripting and Python for task automation.
· Observability: Experience using enterprise monitoring tools to track database health and performance.
· Process Frameworks: Understanding of ITIL-based support processes and service management.
· Environment Management: Experience managing on-premise infrastructure alongside modern cloud deployments.
