The Maintenance Engineer I is a key enabler of operational continuity, responsible for coordinating procurement strategies, maintenance planning, and external services execution across manufacturing plants, facilities, and utilities. This role acts as a critical bridge between Maintenance, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, Legal, and Production, ensuring that materials, spare parts, contracts, and services are available on time and executed according to specifications. The ideal candidate brings strong technical understanding, planning discipline, and cross‑functional collaboration skills to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Coordinate annual, quarterly, and monthly maintenance and procurement plans, ensuring contracts, quotations, work orders, purchase orders, and spare parts are available in advance to support preventive maintenance, corrective tasks, and planned shutdowns.

Lead vendor and contractor coordination for external maintenance services, ensuring planning, execution, administrative closeout, and SAP documentation are completed in accordance with company guidelines and timelines.

Proactively follow up with suppliers, contractors, and internal users to ensure on‑time execution of scheduled maintenance activities and prevent operational delays.

Translate technical maintenance requirements into clear commercial specifications, acting as the connection point between Maintenance teams and Procurement to ensure accurate sourcing and purchasing decisions.

Monitor and facilitate the Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) process, tracking open purchase orders, resolving administrative bottlenecks, and supporting timely approvals and invoice closure.

Create, maintain, and govern SAP master data, including equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs), maintenance task lists, spare parts setup, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) configuration to ensure system accuracy and reliability.

Serve as the coordination link between Maintenance, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, and Production, organizing alignment meetings to synchronize technical priorities, material availability, budgets, and execution schedules.

Support contractor management by monitoring performance through KPIs, ensuring contractor qualification, conducting periodic reviews, and verifying compliance with CPS safety standards and permit‑to‑work requirements.

Manage maintenance service costs versus budget, analyze variances, identify optimization and savings opportunities, and support annual budget preparation without compromising safety or quality.

Contribute to reliability initiatives by analyzing failure history, identifying recurring issues, supporting root cause analysis, and enabling preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, including the use of sensors and monitoring systems.

Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with food safety, quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations, actively supporting the Integrated Management System (SGI) and applicable ISO standards.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

Minimum of one year of experience in maintenance planning, maintenance execution support, or industrial operations within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Working knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, spare parts management, and equipment reliability.

Proven experience using SAP for maintenance planning, procurement coordination, master data governance, BOM management, and MRP processes.

Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and stakeholders simultaneously.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and familiarity with food safety, quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements in an industrial setting.

Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and support fact‑based problem solving related to maintenance performance, downtime, and cost control.

Demonstrated capability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams, building alignment between technical and administrative functions.

Effective communication and conflict‑resolution skills to mediate between areas, drive consensus, and maintain operational continuity.

Intermediate English proficiency to collaborate with SAP users, suppliers, contractors, and CPS peers; Spanish proficiency required for local operations.
