Job Description:
Join our Payroll and Rewards Operations team as a Senior Associate, where your work directly impacts employee satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and payroll accuracy. This role combines payroll tax expertise, accounting knowledge, and rewards administration in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing payroll tax obligations, accounting reconciliations, and compliance processes for large-scale organizations.
What will you do?

Manage payroll processing activities, ensuring accurate calculation of salaries, bonuses, deductions, and statutory obligations.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Administer and validate payroll tax processes including ISR, IMSS, Infonavit, and State Payroll Tax (ISN).

Perform payroll reconciliations and accounting entries, ensuring alignment between payroll, finance, and accounting records.

Partner closely with Finance and Accounting teams to validate tax calculations, reporting, and compliance obligations.

Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax variances, and employee inquiries in a timely manner.

Support audits and provide documentation related to payroll taxes, accounting records, and statutory reporting.

Generate payroll, tax, and rewards reports to support business and compliance requirements.

Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational excellence within payroll operations.
What are the key skills we are looking for?

Payroll Tax Compliance – Advanced level; deep understanding of Mexican payroll tax regulations and statutory obligations.

Payroll Operations – Advanced level; managing end-to-end payroll cycles accurately and efficiently.

Accounting & Reconciliations – Intermediate to Advanced level; performing payroll accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial controls.

HR & Tax Compliance – Advanced level; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Stakeholder Management – Intermediate level; collaborating effectively with HR, Finance, Accounting, and external providers.

Problem Solving – Advanced level; identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Data Governance – Intermediate level; maintaining data accuracy and integrity across payroll systems.

Business Process Compliance – Intermediate level; ensuring adherence to established controls and procedures.

HR Technology / Payroll Systems – Intermediate level; experience using payroll platforms, preferably SAP.
What qualifications will make you successful?

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in payroll tax, payroll accounting, or payroll compliance.

Strong knowledge of Mexican payroll tax regulations, including:

ISR
-
IMSS
-
Infonavit
-
State Payroll Tax (Impuesto Sobre Nómina)

Federal, state, and local payroll compliance requirements

Experience preparing payroll-related accounting entries and account reconciliations.

Experience working in organizations with 3,000+ employees is highly desirable.

Experience with SAP Payroll or related ERP/payroll systems preferred.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of payroll controls, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

Conversational English proficiency required.
