The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of company facilities, production equipment, calibration processes and department’s regulatory controls to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained and serviced in a manner that maximizes productivity while minimizing downtime, costs, and operational risks. The supervisor will lead a team of maintenance engineers, technicians and janitor crew to perform repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and cleaning tasks in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
- Supervises the maintenance team, including engineers, technicians, and staff, providing training, mentorship, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Manages the calibration of measuring and production equipment according to standards, maintaining updated records and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Oversees the maintenance of building infrastructure, including HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and lighting.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts for equipment issues, identifies root causes, and implements effective solutions using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Develops scheduled maintenance plans and manages work orders and schedules to ensure timely task execution.
- Maintains inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, managing orders efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Ensures that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations such as OSHA, conducting inspections, risk assessments, and providing training.
- Collaborates in the planning and management of the maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Keeps accurate records of activities, repairs, equipment performance, and calibrations, preparing reports for management review.
- Proposes improvements to maintenance processes to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and maximize performance.
- Strong knowledge in CAPA and NCMR's solution
Academic Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering or related careers.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance, or at least 2 years in a supervisory role. within the medical device or manufacturing industry.
- Work experience in an FDA regulated environment.
- Work experience in ISO13485
Technical Skills:
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in equipment calibration and troubleshooting techniques.
- Maintenance metrics control as MTTR, MTBF, OEE and Equipment Downtime
