Finance Analyst supporting Amazon's Mexico Payments business, responsible for financial planning, forecasting, and controllership activities. The role involves building and maintaining P&L models across payment products and programs, supporting month-end close and reconciliation, preparing variance analyses, and contributing to governance mechanisms such as Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) and Monthly Financial Reviews (MFRs). The analyst will partner with Product, Risk, Accounting, BizOps, and Compliance teams to ensure data accuracy and deliver actionable insights on payment performance, cost of payments (COP), and payment mix optimization. This is an entry-level role suited for recently qualified Finance, Engineering, or Accounting graduates.
Key job responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: Build and maintain P&L models for products and programs across the MX Payments portfolio; support monthly and quarterly planning cycles with forecasts and variance analyses.
- Business Partnering: Partner with key business stakeholders, including the Amazon Payments product and commercial teams, to align financial and operational analyses, challenge assumptions, and drive data-driven decision-making. Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial and business goals.
- Controllership & Compliance: Enhance finance controllership through the development and maintenance of models, reports, and processes. Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, including financial and tax-related regulations. Dive deep to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.
- Strategic Analysis & Recommendations: Conduct financial and strategic analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and revenue growth. Provide recommendations to enhance payment experience and improve overall financial performance.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes. Drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Month-End Close & Reporting: Manage month-end close processes, including the preparation of commentary and analyses on key drivers of financial performance. Provide risk and opportunity guidance and present findings to senior management.
- Ad-Hoc Analyses: Perform ad-hoc financial analyses as needed to support business needs and provide insights to senior management.
