Primary Function of Position
Reporting to the Sr. Customs and Logistics Manager, the Customs Supervisor is responsible for ensuring customs compliance, operational efficiency, and seamless import/export processes. This role leads the logistics team and coordinates with customs brokers, carriers, and other service providers, ensuring adherence to Mexican and international customs regulations.
Essential Job Duties

Supervise daily import, export, and virtual customs operations.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of import export documentation, HS classification, and recordkeeping.

Maintain compliance with Mexican customs regulations, trade programs, Intuitive certifications, and relevant international regulations.

Oversee inventory control compliance related to Annex 24 and IMMEX programs.

Manage internal audits and support external audits.

Oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) for brokers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to support daily activities.

Track shipments end-to-end, manage expedited shipments, and resolve operational issues.

Supervises a team of individual contributors with responsibility for performing functions related to the Raw Material and FG Import/Export, besides other requests, according to documented procedures.

Train, mentor, and develop team members.

Assign workloads and set priorities within the team.

Conduct regular team performance evaluations.

Escalate operational performance matters and project updates to the supervisor.

Foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Drive process and system enhancements, including automation initiatives.

Report, control, and monitor KPIs (e.g., clearance times, operational efficiency, costs, compliance).

Manage and review international documentation required for shipments.

Address and escalate customs-related requests and inquiries as necessary.

Create,update, and analyze import/export reports.
