Controls Engineering Intern – Automation & Robotics
At XECS, we are an automation engineering company delivering high-level services to the automotive industry across Mexico and internationally.
We specialize in PLC programming, CNC systems, robotics, gantry systems, commissioning, diagnostics, and industrial automation integration for major automotive manufacturers.
We are currently looking for Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering students who are passionate about industrial automation and want real hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing technologies.
What You Will Do
- Support PLC, CNC, and robotic integration projects.
- Assist engineers during commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Learn and support industrial automation systems used in automotive manufacturing.
- Participate in robot teaching, diagnostics, and testing.
- Support technical documentation and project development activities.
- Work alongside experienced controls engineers in real industrial applications.
- Maintain safety and quality standards during all activities.
Ideal Candidate
- Engineering student (Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or related).
- Strong interest in industrial automation and robotics.
- Basic knowledge or academic exposure to:
- Siemens S7 / TIA Portal
- FANUC or MTX Rexroth systems
- Industrial robotics (ABB, FANUC, or KUKA)
- CNC operation or G-code
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
- Intermediate English preferred.
