The External Substitute Teacher is responsible for covering classes during a teacher’s absence. S/he should be able to direct groups from Early Childhood Center (ECC), Lower School (LS), Middle School (MS), and Upper School (US), take attendance, and follow all the instructions left by the teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
As an external substitute teacher, help to cover teacher absences for training, personal and sick days.
Supervise classwork.
Support students in completing class activities.
Report any disciplinary issues to the main office.
Prepare all materials and collect them if needed.
Cover any class for any division at ASF.
Education and Certification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree. (Preferably related to Education.)
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Fluent in English. (Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.)
Previous working experience in education.
At least one year of experience in a classroom or in working with children.
Experience in classroom management.
Be aware of the possibility of being called in on short notice (the night before/the morning of) - flexibility in scheduling is a must
The mandatory working schedule is 7:30 to 14:30.
