Job Description
We are hiring a highly strategic yet deeply hands-on Senior AWS Engineer to spearhead infrastructure planning, technical design, and architectural optimization. In this role, you will transition beyond reactive troubleshooting to own the blueprinting, security hardening, and performance engineering of our cloud environments. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive design documentation, executing complex infrastructure projects, and continuously optimizing workloads for maximum cost efficiency and resilience. At least one active AWS Certification is strictly required for this role, coupled with solid, verifiable hands-on engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design Documentation: Author detailed technical design documents, architectural diagrams, and infrastructure roadmaps for complex projects.
Infrastructure Project Planning: Plan, lead, and execute end-to-end cloud infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless migrations, upgrades, and deployments.
Cloud Security & Compliance: Architect and enforce rigid security frameworks, implementing advanced IAM policies, WAF configurations, network isolation, and proactive threat mitigation.
Cost & Performance Optimization: Audit existing cloud environments to identify bottlenecks and cost inefficiencies, implementing structural optimizations to maximize ROI and performance.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive automation by building and maintaining scalable environments using CloudFormation or Terraform.
Advanced Networking & Systems Engineering: Oversee complex AWS networking topologies (VPC, routing, DNS, security boundaries) and ensure high-performing Linux OS configurations.
Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Design and validate comprehensive backup, multi-region disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with technical development, application, and leadership teams to ensure infrastructure aligns perfectly with engineering requirements.
Requirement
- AWS Certification (Mandatory): Must possess at least one active AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Security Specialty).
- 5+ years of solid, hands-on experience architecting, engineering, and optimizing production workloads on AWS.
- Deep expertise in AWS core services: VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation/Terraform, ELB/ALB, Auto Scaling, EBS, EFS, and WAF.
- Strong AWS networking mastery, including subnets, route tables, Transit Gateways, NAT, DNS (Route 53), security groups, and NACLs.
- Advanced Linux systems administration skills, including performance tuning, kernel optimization, and deep troubleshooting at the OS layer.
- Proficient with web servers (Apache, Nginx) and relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB) in high-traffic configurations.
- Solid scripting skills in Bash or Python to drive operational automation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple incidents in parallel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
- Experience in managed hosting or MSP environments with SLA-driven operations.
- Exposure to infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Understanding of AWS security best practices and Well Architected Infrastructure.
- Exposure to cost optimization and performance tuning in AWS environments.
