Overview
We are seeking an experienced Development Lead to join our growing team in LATAM. This is a remote contract opportunity for a hands-on technical leader who is passionate about building scalable, high-quality software solutions while collaborating directly with clients and engineering teams.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Ruby, React, Go (Golang), Microservices, APIs, and DevOps practices. This is a customer-facing role that requires regular communication with US-based clients. In this role, you will lead technical initiatives, guide architectural decisions, mentor developers, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable applications that meet business objectives.
You will play a key role in driving engineering excellence, promoting best practices, and ensuring successful project delivery in a collaborative, fast-paced consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions.
- Collaborate directly with clients to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor developers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and best practices.
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Ruby, React, and Go (Golang).
- Build and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Drive DevOps initiatives, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Identify technical risks, recommend solutions, and ensure timely project delivery.
- Promote clean code, testing, performance optimization, and software quality standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to development processes.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading development teams or serving as a Technical Lead or Development Lead.
- Professional production experience with:
- Ruby
- React
- Go (Golang)
- Microservices Architecture
- REST APIs
- DevOps practices
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher, with the ability to communicate directly with US-based clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an IT consulting or staff augmentation environment.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
- Experience building SaaS or multi-tenant applications.
- Experience mentoring engineers and growing technical teams.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
- Experience working with distributed international teams.
