Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for leading the operations and employees of Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance, with full accountability for establishing objectives and continuous-improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, methods, productivity, inventory, and equipment availability.
Activities
- Define and execute the Operations strategy for Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance, aligning it with customer demand, the plant’s growth plan, and G&W Electric’s business priorities.
- Establish the performance management framework through the Lean Daily Management System and performance boards, ensuring KPIs are accurate, standardized, updated in a timely manner, and visible to the Plant Manager and other G&W Electric facilities. Use this information to identify trends, anticipate risks, and support decision-making.
- Lead and align Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance Supervisors and Team Leaders with the plant’s strategic priorities, business objectives, and expected results, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results orientation.
- Lead capacity, resource, and budget planning for the assigned areas, controlling labor, overtime, MRO, and maintenance costs, and evaluating processes, tools, technology, and investments that improve capacity and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies, applicable Mexican legal requirements, and the Integrated Management System, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Requeriments
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Professional degree required.
- General experience: Five to seven years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Manufacturing experience: Three to five years in a low-volume/high-mix, engineered-to-order and built-to-order manufacturing environment.
- Leadership: At least ten years of progressive experience leading employees and manufacturing operations.
- Operations: Experience managing Production and directly coordinating Warehouse, material-flow, and Maintenance functions.
- Continuous improvement: Extensive knowledge and leadership in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, TPM, 5P, or other continuous-improvement models, with demonstrated participation in improvement projects.
- Management systems: Experience creating and documenting processes and procedures; knowledge of ISO 9001 and fundamentals of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Management tools: Experience managing safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, inventory, and maintenance KPIs, as well as preparing and controlling budgets.
- Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems.
- Language: Advanced English for effective communication with corporate and technical teams.
- Competencies: Strong analytical, decision-making, negotiation, problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Interaction: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and all levels of the organization.
- Personal leadership: Ability to teach, mentor, and develop others; strong accountability, business judgment, customer orientation, and results focus.
- Availability: Ability to respond to operational emergencies and provide support outside regular working hours when required for operational continuity.
Preferred: Experience in the power-equipment industry, customized engineered products, J.D. Edwards, and technical engineering environments.
