We are seeking a Nearshore Quality Engineer to support the development and execution of automated and manual testing strategies across modern web applications and APIs. This role is ideal for a hands-on QE who is passionate about quality, automation, and continuous improvement, while remaining flexible enough to step into manual testing when needed.
You will work closely with developers, product teams, and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases, scalable test automation, and efficient CI/CD integration.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript and Playwright
- Execute API automation testing, validating endpoints, payloads, and integrations
- Perform manual testing when automation is not feasible or during exploratory testing scenarios
- Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub Actions, to enable automated test execution
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle
- Develop and maintain Page Object Models (POM) and reusable test fixtures for scalable automation
- Validate backend data through SQL queries and database testing techniques
- Review and interpret API specifications (Swagger/OpenAPI) to build comprehensive test coverage
- Apply sound judgment in defining test strategies, including when to automate vs. test manually
- Track, document, and communicate defects clearly and effectively
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript for test automation
- Proven expertise using Playwright for UI automation
- Experience in API testing and automation
- Willingness and ability to perform manual testing as needed
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions
- Strong proficiency with Git and version control workflows
- Experience building and maintaining Page Object Models and test frameworks
- Basic knowledge of SQL for backend validation
- Ability to read and understand API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Solid understanding of testing strategies and best practices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
