Role Overview
The Category Space Analyst supports U.S. commercial operations by delivering data-driven insights that optimize product assortment, shelf space, and planogram execution across retail channels. This role partners closely with
U.S.-based Category Management, Sales, and Analytics teams to translate consumer, retailer, and performance data into actionable recommendations that drive growth, efficiency, and in-store execution excellence.
Based in Monterrey, this position operates in close collaboration with U.S. stakeholders, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate insights clearly across borders and time zones.
This is a hybrid positioned based in Monterrey, Mexico
Regular collaboration with U.S.-based teams during U.S. business hours
What You'll Do
· Analyze category performance, shelf productivity, and space-to-sales metrics across U.S. retail accounts
· Support the development, maintenance, and optimization of planograms aligned with category strategies
· Evaluate assortment effectiveness, SKU rationalization opportunities, and whitespace analysis
· Conduct pre- and post-resets analysis to measure execution effectiveness and ROI
· Build and maintain recurring dashboards and reports for U.S. Category Management and Sales teams
· Integrate multiple data sources including POS, syndicated data (e.g., Circana/IRI, Nielsen), internal shipment data, and retailer-specific reporting
· Identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to shelf space, assortment, and merchandising execution
· Partner with U.S.-based Category Managers, Sales, Revenue Growth Management, and Supply Chain teams
· Support customer-specific presentations, scorecards, and data requests
· Translate complex analyses into clear insights and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
· Help standardize analytical tools, templates, and best practices across accounts
· Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve data accuracy and efficiency
· Ensure data integrity and consistency across all deliverables
Who You Are
Educational Background & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
· 2–4 years of experience in U.S. based category management, space planning, sales analytics, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) analytics
Technical Skills
· Ability to analyze and manipulate technical and complex data and provide meaningful insights
· Problem-solving and time management skills
· Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity
· Experience working with syndicated data (Circana/IRI, Nielsen, or similar)
· Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
· Experience with space planning tools (e.g., Blue Yonder/JDA, Apollo, Spaceman)
· Familiarity with U.S. retail environments (grocery, convenience, mass, club, or drug)
· Experience supporting U.S.-based stakeholders from a nearshore or offshore location
Language & Communication
· Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
Sueldo: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 al mes
