Job Summary**
The Sr. Materials Planner/Scheduler at El Carmen Manufacturing Facility will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the flow of materials through the production process to ensure optimal inventory levels and on-time delivery of manufactured goods. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to maintain efficient and cost-effective operations.
Job Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute detailed materials plans and production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to identify potential shortages or excesses and take corrective action.
- Generate and manage purchase requisitions for materials, ensuring timely procurement and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to optimize material flow, resolve production constraints, and implement process improvements.
- Analyze material requirements planning (MRP) data and adjust plans as needed to meet changing demands.
- Track and report on key materials planning metrics, including inventory turns, on-time delivery, and material obsolescence.
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring material availability for pilot builds and production ramp-up.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within the materials planning function.
- Maintain accurate master data for materials and suppliers within the ERP system.
Required Skills and Education
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in materials planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
