Technical Project Assistant

About the role
An energy solutions company is looking for a highly organized and proactive Technical Project Assistant to support the Technical Director in coordinating and following up on active projects.
This role focuses on tracking pending activities, deadlines, deliverables, project documentation, and agreements among Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
We welcome recent graduates and junior professionals who are interested in developing their careers in technical project coordination. Previous experience in the energy sector is not required.
Key responsibilities
- Track project activities, pending items, deadlines, commitments, and deliverables.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date overview of each active project.
- Request progress updates from internal teams, suppliers, and other responsible parties.
- Identify missing information, potential delays, or unresolved issues and escalate them promptly.
- Support the monitoring of project schedules and key milestones.
- Coordinate agreements and follow-up activities between the Technical Director and the teams involved in each project.
- Prepare meeting minutes and maintain clear records of agreements, owners, and due dates.
- Organize and update project files, folders, reports, and technical documentation.
- Verify that the required information and documents are available for each stage of the project.
- Update internal project management tools and tracking platforms.
- Prepare concise status reports outlining progress, pending matters, risks, and next steps.
- Facilitate clear and timely communication across multidisciplinary teams.
Required qualifications
- Technical degree, bachelor’s degree, or engineering background in a relevant field.
- Recent graduates and candidates with initial professional experience are welcome to apply.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow up on multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Intermediate English, including the ability to read technical documents and write basic professional emails.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work with reports, schedules, project files, and technical documentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Autonomy, accountability, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid or remote environment.
- Current residence in Monterrey or the Monterrey metropolitan area.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience supporting or coordinating projects.
- Experience in engineering, construction, industrial services, installations, manufacturing, maintenance, energy, or a related environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Odoo, Monday, Asana, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Experience coordinating activities with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, or contractors.
- Experience preparing meeting minutes, status reports, project trackers, or document-control records.
Ideal profile
The successful candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and highly organized. They take ownership of pending activities, communicate clearly with different stakeholders, and follow through until commitments are completed.
This person is comfortable requesting updates, sending reminders, identifying potential delays, and escalating issues when necessary. They can work independently while maintaining accurate and timely communication with the Technical Director and the rest of the project team.
