We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in the launch and ramp-up of a new manufacturing operation. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure operational readiness, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency from startup through full-scale production.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with at least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, strong project management capabilities, and a proven track record supporting new product introductions, process improvements, and production launches. Experience in the sewing, apparel, textile, or cut-and-sew industry is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing process development and implementation for new production lines and operations.
- Design, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, workflows, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency.
- Support facility startup activities, production ramp-up, capacity planning, and operational readiness.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
- Analyze production performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects involving Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage engineering projects, timelines, resources, and budgets as required.
- Support equipment selection, installation, validation, and process qualification activities.
- Develop manufacturing layouts and optimize material flow and workstation design.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to engineers, supervisors, technicians, and production personnel.
- Monitor key manufacturing metrics and drive initiatives to achieve operational targets.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electromechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in process optimization, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and project management.
- Experience in sewing, apparel, textile, soft goods, or cut-and-sew manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
