A global technology organization serving international clients is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee General Ledger accounting operations for its Mexican entity. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Mexican accounting standards, supporting financial reporting, managing closing activities, and collaborating with finance teams across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger (GL) accounting activities for the Mexican entity, ensuring compliance with Mexican GAAP (NIF) and internal accounting policies.
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on time.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including supporting schedules and reconciliations.
- Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.
- Serve as a key point of contact during internal and external audit processes.
- Collaborate with finance teams located in the United States and Europe on reporting and cross-border accounting activities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory tax filings, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements within accounting operations.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and external advisors to maintain accurate financial records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, including significant exposure to General Ledger functions.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican GAAP (NIF).
- Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Navision experience is highly desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with international teams.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Previous experience working in a multinational company or with U.S.-based organizations.
