We are seeking a Lead Backstage.io GCP DevOps Engineer to build and evolve an internal developer portal on Google Cloud Platform, spanning infrastructure, web applications, and Node.js hosting and deployment with enterprise integrations. You will lead delivery across distributed teams and leverage AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate outcomes—apply to help shape the platform experience.
Responsibilities

Lead delivery of GCP infrastructure and DevOps practices supporting an internal developer portal

Design scalable hosting and deployment patterns for web applications and Node.js services

Build integrations that connect Elastic Stack entities into the Backstage software catalog

Integrate extensions, templates, and render scripts to expand Backstage capabilities
-
Implement a capability to run Terraform scripts as part of platform workflows

Integrate JIRA service desk capabilities into the portal
-
Integrate Jenkins CI/CD capabilities into the portal
-
Coordinate work across distributed teams to deliver cross-cutting platform improvements

Apply AI-assisted development workflows to increase team productivity and delivery speed
Requirements

5+ years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure delivery for web applications

Experience with Google Cloud Platform

Experience with Elastic Stack integrations (ELK)

Experience with Node.js backend hosting and deployment

Lead-level ownership and ability to work independently across distributed, cross-functional teams

Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills

Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)
