Ford is looking for a Design & Release (D&R) Engineer for Wheels, Tires, Jacks, and Wheel Ornaments (WTJO) in Mexico. In this role, you will lead the design, development, validation, and release of WTJO components for assigned vehicle programs. You will ensure compliance with quality, cost, weight, and timing targets while adhering to Ford's engineering specifications (ES/FEDE) and manufacturing requirements. Collaborating with suppliers, design studio, vehicle dynamics, and program teams, you will drive product robustness, support assembly plant launches, and manage parts release through GPDS and WERS. - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, or a related Engineering discipline. Master's degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive product development systems (GPDS) and change control processes.
- Experience with CAD, BOM management tools (FEDEBOM, WERS), and sourcing documentation (ESOW).
- Familiarity with Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA), Six Sigma, 8D problem-solving, and DVP&R.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with global engineering teams and suppliers.
