How to Meet the English and Spanish Language Requirement:
Self-Certification in ERA (Mandatory) All applicants must self-certify their language(s) proficiency when filling out their job application in the ERA system.
Language Testing (If Applicable) If you meet the Education and Experience requirements and do not submit an English /Spanish language test score (submission is optional), you will be scheduled for English language testing as part of the recruitment process. Applicants who do not achieve the required score will not be able to continue in the selection process.
Submission of Existing Test Scores (Optional) Applicants who already possess a valid English/Spanish language test score may upload the results in the Documents section of the ERA application.

Fluent level scores are valid indefinitely. Applicants who already hold a Fluent score are not required to retest.

Good working knowledge level scores are valid for up to (5) five years from the test date.

Skills And Abilities (these may be tested):
Must have excellent office skills (such as filing, organization, and customer service), including Level II typing (40 wpm); basic computer literacy; good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software applications. Must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, and ability to solve problems with limited supervision. Must exercise good judgment and excellent customer service skills. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Mexican driver’s license and be available to travel within the state of Guanajuato and to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. Must be able to work an irregular schedule, be available for after-hours duty (i.e. frequently after office hours and on weekends). Must be able to telework from a location that meets the Home Safety Checklist for Teleworkers (DS-1963) for up to 100 percent of the time if needed by emergency circumstances.
