Underwriter Manager LATAM
We are looking for an Underwriter Manager to successfully develop the International Business portfolio in the LATAM region, by consolidating existing accounts and acquiring new prospective programs in each country. The goal is to ensure projected profitability and the committed level of service for this portfolio, in full compliance with current underwriting and issuance regulations, both local and global.
Key responsibilities:
-
Coordination of Global Teams: Manage global teams (Mexico, Colombia, Brazil) to ensure consistency and alignment in prospecting, underwriting, and post-sale service processes for international programs. Actively participate in the implementation and development of strategies focused on achieving profitability, growth, service, and team development objectives. Develop the underwriting, operations, and offering teams under your responsibility, promoting their professional training.
-
Program Structuring: Develop insurance programs for companies with an international presence, adhering to global underwriting standards and local practices. Ensure the delivery of international program proposals to the intermediating brokers, preparing slips according to the broker’s and client’s requests, while guaranteeing that coverage limits, risks, clauses, and other terms comply with the company's policies.
-
Portfolio Growth: Coordinate relationships with distributors for account management and prospecting. Hold strategic meetings to discuss renewals and the potential for new account acquisition based on client behavior, as well as terms and conditions that may apply to upcoming offers. Conduct strategic market analysis to stay updated on industry trends.
-
Policy Instructions: Coordinate both the issuance of Master policies in the originating countries (Mexico, Colombia, Brazil) and the local policies generated in other countries participating in the international program. Ensure the proper integration of files within platforms and authorized physical and electronic media to control operations and expedite collections.
-
Adherence to AIS, Rules, SLA, and Guidelines: Oversee the operation of international programs in accordance with applicable regulations, underwriting techniques, efficient use of tools and systems, reinsurance placement processes, issuance guidelines, and compliance with underwriting guides, operational frameworks, AXA codes and regulations (both local and global). Ensure quality standards and SLA compliance throughout the end-to-end process.
-
Reports and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of programs and documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Prepare monitoring dashboards and control panels. Manage growth, profitability, and service indicators via institutional tools to monitor account behavior and make adjustments to achieve desired results.
-
Collection Coordination: Manage and follow up on premium collection processes for international programs, both in countries where the master policy was issued and in those that are part of the program. This includes programs underwritten in coinsurance with other ceding companies, whether we are lead or follow reinsurers. Implement bordereaux and monitor the Data Quality Report (DQR).
-
Claims Follow-up: Promote periodic review of reserve amounts, adjustments, claim closure times, recovery of payments made in countries or under coinsurance policies, and other factors that impact the technical results and retention of the account.
-
Quality Management: Implement and maintain the Quality Management System, driving continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Engineering, or related fields.
