Position Summary
Parker is seeking a Territory Manager – Transportation to drive profitable growth across transportation and vocational vehicle markets. This role focuses on developing and expanding customer relationships in segments such as dump trucks, refuse trucks, car haulers, mobile platforms, and specialty transportation equipment.
The ideal candidate is a consultative, technically capable sales professional with experience selling engineered solutions into complex vehicle, equipment, or industrial manufacturing environments. Relevant technologies may include hydraulic systems, filtration, fluid connectors, motion control, and related engineered components or systems.
This role requires strong business development skills, disciplined account planning, and the ability to collaborate across Parker’s engineering, product, operations, customer service, distribution, and commercial teams to deliver differentiated value to customers.
As a Territory Manager – Transportation, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and growing business opportunities within assigned transportation markets. You will build strong customer relationships, uncover application needs, position Parker’s broad technology portfolio, and lead opportunities from early-stage customer engagement through solution development, commercial alignment, implementation, and ongoing account growth.
This position is well suited for a high-performing sales professional who understands complex technical sales cycles, can influence technical and commercial stakeholders, and is motivated by delivering solutions that improve customer performance, reliability, productivity, and total value.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute territory and account growth plans focused on transportation and vocational vehicle customers.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in dump trucks, refuse trucks, car haulers, mobile platforms, and specialty vehicle applications.
Lead consultative technical selling efforts across Parker technologies, including hydraulics, filtration, fluid connectors, motion control, and engineered systems.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, including engineering, purchasing, operations, program management, and executive decision-makers.
Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification and customer discovery through quotation, technical alignment, negotiation, award, implementation, and ongoing account support.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Parker engineering, product management, customer service, manufacturing, and distribution partners to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Develop a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and maintain accurate forecasting, CRM updates, and opportunity tracking.
Analyze customer applications, competitive positioning, and market trends to align Parker solutions with customer performance, reliability, productivity, and cost objectives.
Support profitable growth by balancing revenue expansion, margin performance, customer value, and long-term strategic fit.
Represent Parker professionally in customer meetings, industry events, product reviews, and technical discussions.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Proven experience in technical sales, territory management, business development, or key account management.
Background in transportation, vocational vehicles, mobile equipment, hydraulics, fluid power, filtration, motion control, industrial components, or engineered systems strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success developing strategic accounts and growing revenue through complex, solution-based sales cycles.
Experience working with customers in design-driven, specification-driven, project-based, or production-oriented environments preferred.
Ability to understand technical applications and communicate effectively with engineering, operations, purchasing, and commercial stakeholders.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience managing account plans, sales pipelines, forecasts, and CRM activity.
Ability to work effectively across functions and influence without direct authority.
Self-directed, results-oriented, and comfortable managing a territory with multiple customer priorities.
Willingness to travel within the assigned territory to support customer engagement and business development activities.
Advanced English proficiency.
