Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services required by the organization. This role ensures the availability of quality products at competitive prices while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting operational efficiency. The Buyer collaborates closely with suppliers and internal departments to meet business needs and drive cost savings.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery performance.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms and conditions with vendors.
Create and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
Monitor order status and ensure on-time delivery of materials and services.
Maintain optimal inventory levels and avoid shortages or excess stock.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Resolve issues related to quality, delivery delays, or discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
Collaborate with planning, production, maintenance, and finance teams to align procurement activities.
Maintain accurate records and data within ERP systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
