NOC Technician – DWDM/Transport/Dark Fiber
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Network Troubleshooting and Support:
Assist in troubleshooting network outages and service issues under guidance from senior team members.
Follow established procedures to diagnose and resolve common network problems.
Escalate complex or critical issues to senior engineers as needed.
Implementation and Maintenance Support:
Support network improvement initiatives by assisting with implementation and testing activities.
Help with equipment installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance tasks.
Learn and apply new tools and technologies as introduced by the team.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with Tier I, Tier II, and engineering teams to support daily operations.
Communicate updates clearly to internal teams and document troubleshooting steps.
Contribute to basic documentation, such as runbooks and incident summaries.
Network Monitoring and Performance:
Monitor network performance and respond to alerts.
Assist in identifying trends or recurring issues and report findings to senior staff.
Support efforts to maintain network reliability and minimize service disruptions.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1–3 years of experience in telecommunications, IT, or network operations (internships count).
Basic understanding of networking concepts (Layer 1 fundamentals preferred).
Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced technical environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
