Mexico Logistics and Trade Compliance
We are seeking a highly autonomous and experienced Senior International Trade & Compliance Specialist to serve as our sole local point of contact managing end-to-end foreign trade, customs compliance, and import/export logistics for Motorola Solutions de México . This role is responsible for ensuring 100% legal compliance with Mexican customs authorities, managing day-to-day operations with customs brokers and carriers, and mitigating regulatory risk through rigorous internal self-auditing. The ideal candidate will possess deep operational ownership to shield the local legal entity from risks while optimizing global supply chain pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Customs Compliance & Regulatory Defense: Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal/external audits and official structural inquiries from Mexican tax and customs authorities ( SAT and ANAM ). Maintain total compliance preservation for the Mexican legal entity, ensuring no official authority response, notification, or legal modification is submitted without rigorous diagnostic compliance analysis and authorized leadership clearance. Track regulatory updates to Mexican Customs Law, NOMs, and VUCEM, keeping internal stakeholders fully updated on direct operational impacts.
End-to-End Import & Export Management: Oversee, monitor, and execute the daily pipeline of import and export operations from initial international origin through final border clearance zones ( Zona Aduanera ) and local delivery. Conduct exhaustive preliminary audits of shipping invoices, technical specifications, and documents supplied by international vendors to prevent customs hold-ups. Rapidly identify, document, and report operational discrepancies, physical shortages, damage, or overages, driving fast-track resolutions and administrative insurance claims.
Logistics Execution & Financial Alignment: Provide structured, ongoing compliance and logistics advisory support to cross-functional business units within Motorola Solutions. Audit, verify, and validate third-party logistics (3PL) and freight-forwarder invoices to ensure accurate pricing and financial settlement. Oversee strict archival compliance standards, securing a master repository of electronic records ( expedientes de comercio exterior and pedimentos ) in total alignment with Mexican fiscal audit laws. Supervise priority delivery protocols for urgent packages, premium couriers, and last-mile operations to end-clients.

- Experience: Minimum of 5 + years of dedicated, hands-on experience driving international trade, compliance operations, and complex customs processes exclusively inside Mexico.
- Autonomous Ownership: Proven history operating successfully as a country-level sole contributor or lead logistics coordinator for a global multinational corporation.
- Technical Regulatory Expertise: Deep working knowledge of Mexican Foreign Trade Rules, SAT/ANAM criteria, VUCEM operations, pedimento auditing, and NOM (Official Mexican Standards) clearance.
- Language Proficiency: B ilingual ( English & Spanish ) with exceptional corporate communication skills to interface effectively with global suppliers and local legal representatives. English requirements: writing and reading - minimum intermediate / Speaking and listening: preferred intermediate.
- Education: preferred Bachelor's degree or similar education in International Trade, Customs Administration, Global Logistics, Law, Business Administration, or related fields.
