The HR Generalist provides comprehensive human resources support for employees and managers across the United States and Puerto Rico. This role serves as a trusted HR partner, supporting employee relations, talent management, compliance, HR operations, and performance management. The HR Generalist will provide support across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including Puerto Rico employment law.
Position responsibilities:

Partner with managers to address employee relations matters by providing guidance on company policies and procedures, advising on disciplinary actions, developing performance improvement plans, and resolving workplace concerns.

Conduct employment-related investigations and collaborate with legal counsel as needed, to ensure appropriate resolution and compliance.

Support employees requiring employer sponsored visas by coordinating visa and immigration matters with external counsel.

Manage and support key employee lifecycle processes, including performance management and organizational changes.

Review and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and procedures, ensuring they remain current, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Monitor and proactively address changes in federal, state, and local compliance changes, including minimum wage requirements and paid sick leave. Develop and deliver trainings for employees and managers on various topics such as effective leadership, communication, policies, and required compliance trainings.

Evaluate HR processes to identify opportunities for improvement, executing new, efficient, scalable processes where applicable.

Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by building trust, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting strong employee relations across the organization.

Perform additional HR duties and special projects as needed to support evolving business needs and departmental priorities.
Job Requirements

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5-7 years of progressive human resources experience, including significant experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and employee lifecycle processes.

2-3 years of HR Generalist experience partnering with employees and managers to support day-to-day HR operations and initiatives.

Working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, local laws, as well as Puerto Rico employment laws, with the ability to apply HR policies and practices in a compliant and effective manner.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively partner with employees and managers at various levels of the organization.

Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional service, effectively managing multiple priorities, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsiveness.

Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion, and discernment when handling sensitive matters and managing confidential information while consistently upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS platforms.
