The HR Specialist – Labor Relations is the central point of contact for all HR topics related to labor relations (not covered by Shared Services) within their area of responsibility, supporting both managers and employees.
By providing expert guidance in labor relations, the HR Specialist – Labor Relations builds trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, manages employee relations matters, develops solutions, and plans and executes their implementation to ensure legal compliance and a positive work environment.
The HR Specialist – Labor Relations acts as a strategic partner to the business, balancing operational needs with labor law compliance and effective employee management, ensuring the best organizational fit and enabling change and transformation.
Enables both the short-term and long-term strategy of local business clients, in alignment with corporate policies related to human relations, organizational and employee development, by defining and implementing the HR strategic initiatives required to meet the defined business strategy (e.g., Strategic Workforce Planning, HR Transformation).
- Guides employees and supervisors on HR-related matters (supports decision-making and acts as a consultant). Directs them to the appropriate point of contact and promotes the full portfolio of HR services (e.g., payroll, data administration, recruiting).
- Consults with Centers of Expertise (CoE) regarding the full portfolio of HR processes (e.g., Compensation & Benefits) and addresses business needs in coordination with the CoE.
- Ensures consistent application and compliance with defined HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Actively identifies gaps and proposes and implements necessary changes to mitigate risks.
- Maintains collaboration with all stakeholders in line with the Balance of Cooperation (e.g., BU HR).
- Accompanies and implements (business) change projects within the area of responsibility together with management of the respective organizational units and internal/external experts (when applicable).
- Introduces/implements new HR services, systems, and processes (from Shared Services and CoEs) within the assigned organization.
- Leads and implements HR projects within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Participates in other business projects, representing HR with general knowledge to achieve project deliverables.
- Advises and guides the organization during periods of significant change (e.g., digital transformation, VUCA environment—volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) and supports organizational development.
- Acts as a role model of the company’s values and culture.
- Implements and supports the Employer Branding roadmap and acts as a brand ambassador.
- Works closely with the Recruiting department or SSC Recruiting, external services, or the local team to attract and select the best-fit candidates.
- Acts as a talent scout within the organization and promotes positive changes in talent management.
- Drives talent readiness through proper succession planning aligned with business needs.
- Supports and guides managers and employees in talent and performance management processes in accordance with local regulations, CoE guidelines, and company policies.
- Ensures execution of talent management initiatives.
- Identifies trends in development needs and alerts the organization to critical areas for succession planning, among others.
- Guides the execution of TMOD initiatives and actions (e.g., project management) within the area of responsibility.
- Drives nominations for Leadership & Talent Development programs for target groups within the area of responsibility.
- Manages competency development by identifying gaps and proposing actions (training).
- Executes job evaluation based on local, country, and/or cooperation policies.
- Leads and facilitates the annual salary review process.
- Maintains relationships with unions and employee representatives, depending on the country approach.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant government regulations.
- Guides employees and supervisors in employee relations conflict management.
Handles employee relations matters such as employee concerns, harassment, and discrimination complaints. Conducts internal investigations when necessary.
- Acts as a company representative towards external parties (courts, fairs, local networks, authorities) when assigned.
- Ensures availability and quality of records related to audits and compliance (e.g., compensation decisions, training certificates, exit interviews).
- Monitors time management, ensures legal compliance, and triggers actions when required according to labor requirements.
- Takes over administrative tasks when customization or deviations from standard processes are required.
- Continuously evaluates performance according to defined KPIs and operational metrics and derives corrective actions (e.g., based on the PDCA model).
- Consolidates and completes reporting within the local organization and publishes reporting results.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist
- Strong experience in employee relations, talent management, and organizational development
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations
- Experience working with Centers of Expertise (CoE) and HR Operations models
- Proven experience partnering with business leaders and aligning HR strategies with business needs
- Experience in change management and organizational transformation
- Strong analytical skills with experience managing KPIs and HR metrics
- Advanced English (preferred)
