ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of complex engineering projects in the electrical, protection, automation, and energy sectors. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong people leadership — managing multidisciplinary teams, driving commercial performance, and ensuring every project meets scope, schedule, and budget commitments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery
- Define project scope, milestones, and success KPIs aligned with business and client objectives.
- Build and manage detailed project plans: WBS, schedule, budget, and risk matrix.
- Lead quality gates, change control, and lessons-learned processes.
- Ensure compliance with PM methodologies (PM@Siemens, PMI, IPMA, or equivalent).
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams of field engineers and specialists (5–15 direct/indirect reports).
- Assign resources effectively; conduct performance reviews and provide continuous coaching.
- Foster an ownership-driven, high-performance team culture.
Stakeholder & Commercial Management
- Act as primary client contact; manage negotiations, contract variations, and executive reporting.
- Identify and manage project RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Contribute to technical/commercial proposals and business development activities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in electrical protection systems, preferably Siemens SIPROTEC or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, configuration, and commissioning of digital protection relays.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850 and Modbus.
- Experience with SCADA and HMI systems in industrial automation environments.
- Background in electrical substation projects and/or renewable energy integration.
- 8+ years of project management experience; 3+ years leading engineering teams.
- Proven track record delivering projects >$1M USD within scope, time, and budget.
- PMP (PMI) or IPMA Level C strongly preferred.
