Mechanical Engineer HVAC / Plumbing / Code Compliance
Position Summary
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong capability in HVAC and plumbing system design for commercial, vertical building, and specialized facilities. The ideal candidate brings experience with load calculations, code compliance, and engineered system layouts, with the ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities

Perform HVAC load calculations using industrystandard software.

Develop HVAC system designs, including equipment selection, ductwork sizing, hydronic systems, and ventilation strategies.

Prepare plumbing system designs, including domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, and medical gas distribution.

Produce construction documents: plans, details, schedules, and specifications.

Ensure compliance with IBC, IMC, UPC, NFPA, and Title 24 mechanical requirements.

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and contractors.

Prepare technical reports, basisofdesign documents, and engineering calculations.
Required Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

5-10 years of mechanical design experience in building systems.

Proficiency in HVAC load calculation tools and mechanical design software.

Strong understanding of IBC, IMC, and California Title 24 mechanical requirements.

Experience with plumbing system design and medical gas distribution.
