Job Description: Border Operations Coordinator
Summary: The Border Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing daily transportation activities across the U.S and Mexico, ensuring the efficient, secure, and compliant flow of inbound and outbound freight at the border. This role serves as a key liaison between carriers, customers, and internal teams at Hub Group integrating operational execution, capacity planning, and customer service in the sub-market.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate daily transportation activities, including load planning, carrier assignment, equipment inventory control.
· Oversee the proper execution of the border crossing operation in the sub-market.
· Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal Hub Group departments to confirm requirements, resolve issues, and maintain operational continuity.
· Review and/or manage Border Crossing documentation such as Commercial Invoices, Entry Numbers, Carta Porte, E-Manifest and Pedimentos to ensure compliance with the proper paperwork to cross the border.
· Collaborate closely with Intermodal Operations, Network Optimization with Account Management teams to validate operational feasibility and customer expectations.
· Monitor load status, troubleshoot delays, and ensure accurate and timely updates to stakeholders.
· Manage appointment scheduling (pick-up / delivery) and coordinate with shippers, consignees, and customs brokers.
· Escalate critical operational issues in a timely manner to team leaders, or manage-ment.
· Maintain strong bilingual communication (English/Spanish) for cross-border coordination and customer interaction.
· Identify and validate accessorial charges, ensuring timely approval and accurate billing.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, International Business, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field (preferred).
· Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations (intermodal or cross-border experience preferred).
· Practical knowledge of the U.S.–Mexico cross-border operations.
· Knowledge of customs processes and border-crossing.
· Understanding capacity planning, equipment utilization, and cost optimization.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage time-sensitive tasks.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
· Availability to work extended hours, weekends, and on-call rotations.
Languages
· Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
Sueldo: $25,000.00 al mes
